Arctic Monkeys release ‘Black Treacle’, the new single from their ‘Suck It And See’ album on Monday the 23rd of January 2012. ‘Black Treacle’ will be available on 7” (RUG449) and digitally (RUG449D). The single will be backed with the exclusive new track ‘You And I’ by Richard Hawley and The Death Ramps, which was recorded and produced by Ross Orton in Sheffield.

The video was made by Focus Creeps and shot in Sheffield and Los Angeles. A collection of outtakes from the ‘Suck It And See’ video, the Focus Creeps think it goes deeper than that:

“The ‘Black Treacle’ video is a compilation of the darker outtakes of ‘Suck It & See’. In the desert, the bright rays of the sun cast a long dark shadow. It’s a prequel where laws get broke, and a sequel where hearts get broke. On the one hand, the song kind of says, now matter how low things go, you can always dream, and on the other hand it’s a video that kind of shows: kids, don’t try this at home.”
