The Irish Surf Rescue Club (ISRC) along with Billabong and Monster Energy have come together to create ‘Tow-In Surf Session’ hosted at Mullaghmore Head. There’s a minimum hight requirement of 20 ft, the comp runs up to and including the 31st of March. A total of 26 big wave surfers from Ireland and Europe are gathering to compete.

When it comes to big wave riding, Ireland has been firmly placed on the map with the discoveries of ‘Aileens’ and more recently, ‘Prowlers’. A big swell was forecast for this weekend so its looking like its on!

Mullaghmore is the perfect place to host this event, we saw 30ft+ waves in 2007, exploding over a jagged and shallow reef. Its one of the most dangerous and powerful waves in Ireland with strong currents too, a real test for any rider.
