Detachments release new single EndGame on 26 May 2014, from their upcoming EP of the same name. This follows their single The Promenade, which saw critical acclaim from Spindle and Clash Magazine (Track of the Day). Other previous accolades include Drowned in Sound ‘Single of the Week’, Guardian Band of the Day and an NME ‘Top 10 Track’.
Led by creative visionary Bastien, Detachments’ “dark wave” sound has gained admiration from numerous tastemakers such as Andrew ‘Screamadelica’ Weatherall and New Order’s Peter Hook. Their debut album in 2011 saw James Ford on production duties (Arctic Monkeys, Haim, Simian Mobile Disco) and their next long-play release, brand new EP EndGame, is out on 30 May.
Bastien and his fluid line-up of friends play Dalston’s Birthdays for the release of the EndGame single, with support from M!R!M! on Sunday 25 May. Detachments’ self-described “Futurist” sound draws on everything from the synth-pop of New Order to the electronica of Kraftwerk, and will leave you elated about their “stirring return” the UK music scene. Forget about “Futurist”, this is the sound of now.
