Ever pushing the limits, Red Bull have embarked on their most audacious attempt yet, the Stratos project. Red Bull are going to send a man (Felix Baumgartner) to the edge of space (about 123,000 feet) in a balloon where he will open the door, and step off.
Within 35 seconds Felix will reach terminal velocity but as he’s so high this will mean breaking the sound barrier. Felix expected to reach a speed of up to 1,110kph. Baumgartner will be the first man to jump from such a height and the first to break the sound barrier via free fall. As far as going to the extreme, this is one of the most ambitous and impressive projects to date.
