Jake Bugg returns with new single Broken, the latest track to be lifted off his platinum selling debut long player “Jake Bugg”.

“Broken” has been re-recorded with legendary producer Rick Rubin in his Malibu studio. It’s an incredible step forward for what was already an album highlight. Working with some of the best musicians around, including drummer Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and string arrangements from David Campbell (Metallica), “Broken” is set to become his defining record. The hymn-like quality of the original is now backed with crisp drums and soulful choirs, whilst Jake’s vocal is his best yet.

Of his time with Rick Rubin so far, Jake has this to say:
“When I first met Rick I wasn’t aware of all he had done and how well renowned he was but I think that helped and so I just cracked on and recorded my tunes. The Whole experience was inspiring. I learnt a lot from Rick. I also got the opportunity to work with some of the best players in the world which has made me become much better as well”

The two are set to go back to the studio later on this year to complete what will become Jake’s second album. He has also recently recorded at Memphis’ Sun Studios, as well as spending time writing in Nashville. Jake Bugg has been the most talked about breakout star of 2013. Following his eponymously-titled album going straight to Number 1 in the autumn of last year, he continued his success with his first tour of the US with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Snow Patrol, followed by his biggest UK tour to date earlier this year. He stormed SXSW, appeared on Letterman and has picked up rave reviews in Rolling Stone and more, been nominated for Brit and NME Awards and most recently played to a packed crowd at Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Jake Bugg will be playing a string of festivals this summer including Glastonbury, T In The Park and Reading/Leeds. He then heads back on tour in the UK in the autumn, a tour that includes three shows at Brixton Academy.
