Rogue Mag Surf Kelly Slater Wins at Trestles

Kelly Slater (USA), 39, has won his fifth Hurley Pro at Trestles title, defeating Owen Wright (AUS), 21, in a hard-fought-Final with the iconic Floridian overtaking the young Australian in a last-minute exchange with a final score of 17.50 to 16.74.

Slater and Wright’s third consecutive Final bout marks a first in ASP history, as no two competitors have faced off in three successive ASP Dream Tour Finals – a noteworthy statistic in sparking this new rivalry in the battle for the ASP World Title. The 10 time world champion is now heading to France with the world n°1 on his back and a possible 11th world title in mind even if Kelly Slater never won the Quiksilver Pro France despite 2 finals in 10 years.

French champion Jérémy Florès, equal 9th in Trestles, continues his excellent season, sitting now in the 9th position of the ASP World Tour rankings in front of Michel Bourez, 10th.

The Quiksilver Pro France, stop n°8 of 11 on the ASP World Tour, will take place from October 4th to 13th on the South West of France. Main contest site is being settled in La Gravière, Hossegor but as a mobile event, the Quiksilver Pro France is able to move to Saint-Jean de Luz, Capbreton or Seignosse depending on the waves. This year is the 10th edition of the Quiksilver Pro France.
