Norah Jones has released “Happy Pills,” the lead single from her forthcoming Danger Mouse produced album Little Broken Hearts. The song is a buoyant parade of sunshiny hooks that has met with an enthusiastic response from both fans and critics alike. Little Broken Hearts—which is now available for pre-order at Amazon and iTunes—is a stunning 12-track set that features original songs co-written by Jones and Danger Mouse (aka Brian Burton) and is the fascinating next step in the artistic evolution of one of the music world’s most consistently intriguing singer-songwriters.

“Happy Pills” surprised Jones and Burton from the moment they wrote it. “We both were like “Oh my God, this is awesome” at first and then went away and listened over the weekend, explains Jones. “We didn’t know if it fit on the record. But I couldn’t stop singing it, and neither could Brian. Eventually we decided it was too much fun, it had to be there.”

Jones will tour extensively in 2012, performing at a mixture of festivals, amphitheatres and theatres in the US and abroad. Select summer European dates, including a pair of sold out London shows at the Royal Festival Hall, are already posted at www.norahjones.com
