The King Of The Groms is a global competition, created by Quiksilver, to find the best 18 young surfers from around the world, who will come together to compete in the international final taking place at the Quiksilver Pro France in October.
With stops all over the globe it gives every grom the chance to get involved. Here in the UK and
Ireland, it all kicks off next month with 3 confirmed events:
Freshwater, Wales – 11/12 June
Croyde, Devon – 23/24 July
Bundoran, Ireland – 25/26 June
That’s not all! This year, the venue for the European final is on home soil. The top groms from all stops in Europe will descend on Fistral beach in Newquay over the August bank holiday; just before the Quiksilver Pro Junior 4 Star ASP event takes place.
This competition is sure to, yet again, highlight the up and coming surf talent from around the UK and the globe, a fact proven by past winners such as Jeremy Flores (ISA World Champion, ASP World Tour and winner of the Pipe Masters 2010), Aritz Aranburu (elite level Top 44 ASP surfer), Maxime Huscenot (Asp Junior World Champion 2009) and most recently Gabriel Medina and Matt Banting.
