BMX Freestyle rider Daniel Wedemeijer from Amsterdam saw his hometown upside down Monday morning by doing a backflip over the Passeerdersgracht. With this stunt, Wedemeijer has shown he is ready for Saturday the 8th of June, when the world’s best BMX Freestylers will gather in bicycle crazy Amsterdam for a unique international BMX competition: Red Bull Framed Reactions. With his backflip over the canal he not only demonstrates why he belongs to the top 16 in BMX Freestyle, but it is also a homage to the festive year “Amsterdam 2013” and the 400th anniversary of the Amsterdam canal district.
The 16 best BMX Freestylers in the world will attempt to push their limits on Saturday the 8th of June at 21:00 at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. The riders will be challenged to showcase their most spectacular tricks in a unique park that they haven’t seen before: a park with moving elements. The park was designed by X-Games ramp builder Nate Wessel. Amsterdam Local Daniel Wedemeijer showed us a taste of what he is capable of and on the 8th of June, he will be one of the sixteen BMX Freestyle riders to show us that you can do a lot more with a bike than you could possibly imagine.
