There was a shock from both performances. Manson was an appalling display of horny drunken shambles. His teenage cult sung his lyrics while he slurred into the microphone and grabbed his groin. They didn’t seem to mind taking over for him, especially when he spat at them and they glorified the moment with great devotion. I’m trying so hard to think well of Manson through his legendary past performances, but it seems the mid life crisis has crushed his creativity now they’re nothing more than a memory.
A magnificent show from Zombie helped us forget about the earlier let down. Emerging from a giant robot in a skeleton outfit complete with union jack rendered the crowd fanatic even before he reached his microphone. I’m not sure if the most entertaining part was him coming out into the crowd guided by security or throwing giant balloons around the Arena for the crowd play with. He of course couldn’t fail to advertise his new production ‘Rising’ which left us rather bored as we waited eagerly for him to return to the stage. After twiddling our thumbs the majority of ‘Past, Present and Future’ was played. Safe to say that my voice died after that.
