Saturday 12th February saw rally fans heading to the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire for the annual GMF Motor Factors Wyedean Forest Rally.

The organisers had received a massive entry of 180 cars ensuring that the forest echoed to the sounds of modern and classic rally cars. The teams were greeted by some late winter sunshine as the British weather joined in the fun for the one day event.

Andy Burton in the awesome Peugeot Cosworth took the victory, his sixth win on the Wyedean. It was especially emotional this time as due to rule changes in 2012 his famous Peugeot Cosworth will be outlawed. Fans will remember the incredible sound of the Burton’s car racing through the Forest for the last time for many years to come. Burton and co-driver Robin Kellard took the victory by 19 seconds from Paul Bird & KirstyRiddick in the Ford Focus WRC with previous Wyedean winners Hugh Hunter and Andy Marchban 3rd in their Ford Focus WRC.

In the competitive 1400cc class Julian Wilkes made it 3 wins in 3 years in his Vauxhall Nova.
Fans can catch all the highlights on Motors TV on Wednesday 16th March at 17.50.

Rally action continues this weekend with the Rali Cwm Gwendraeth 2011 at Pembrey Circuit in West Wales on Sunday and next weekend with the Rallye Sunseeker in Bournemouth on 25/26th February, lookout for the pictures here on Rogue Mag.
