TT3D Closer To The Edge

Last week saw the premiere of TT3D: Closer to the Edge race to Vue Cinemas Westfield where racing stars of all genre’s made it down the red carpet to see the upcoming 3D documentary, Among them was Sir Jackie Stewart. Having seen the film the triple world champion gave the film “Having just seen that film I think that us Formula One drivers are a bunch of pussycats in comparison. People will see that film and want to go to the TT. I certainly want to go to the race”.

TT3D: Closer To The Edge is a film about the TT, the world-famous motorcycle race that takes place on the Isle of Man every year. Racing along public roads on bikes just inches apart – with speeds hitting 200mph – drama, tension and tragedy all combine to thrill the audience and tell a very moving human story. Producers CinemaNX have had unique behind-the-scenes access to the races and the lives of the riders who compete to be ‘King of the Mountain’.

The film follows the leading riders taking part in the 2010 race, in particular Guy Martin and Ian Hutchinson. Martin is a lovable rogue who doesn’t play by the rules, but his determination to win his first race pushes him to the limit. Hutchinson is dedicated, focused and works hard to stay at the top. The film is about their battle to become the ultimate rider in the most dramatic and record-breaking year in TT history. The race has always called for a commitment far beyond any other sporting event, and many have made the ultimate sacrifice in their quest for victory. Bridgett Dobbs, widow of TT star Paul ‘Dobbsy’ Dobbs, speaks in the film of accepting with equanimity that her husband, like many others, died living the dream in the pursuit of glory. A story about freedom of choice and the strength of human spirit; it’s also an examination of what motivates those rare few, this elite band of brothers who risk everything to win.

TT3D: Closer to the Edge is directed by Richard de Aragues, is produced by Steve Christian and Marc Samuelson and was shot and will be released in 3D.
