Praia De Carcavelos, Cascais – Portugal (Tuesday, September 16, 2014) – The second instalment of the ASP Prime Cascais Billabong Pro, to be held early October at the iconic Carcavelos beach in Cascais, will host a flurry of Samsung Galaxy ASP World Championship Tour surfers. An unprecedented 27 members of the Top34 will battle it out in Cascais for a piece of the prizemoney and ranking points purse, including the likes of World No. 4 Michel Bourez (PYF) and No.5 Mick Fanning (AUS) amongst others.

The second event on the 2014 Portuguese Waves Series – Cascais Trophy, following the ASP Prime SATA Azores Pro and before the final showdown at the Rip Curl Pro Portugal, Cascais will also play an important role in determining the lucky winner of an added $50,000 prizemoney bonus.

Jesse Mendes (BRA) 21, early leader of the series after his win in Azores, will look to confirm and capitalize in Cascais, not able to take part in the final WCT event in Peniche. Adam Melling (AUS) who won last year’s Portuguese Waves Series – Cascais Trophy will also return to the beautiful coastal Cascais and hope to better an unusual first-round exit in Azores.

The first ever Cascais Billabong Pro held in 2013 was graced with flawless surf on the final day to crown current World No.29 Jadson Andre (BRA), who will return to defend both his title and his position on the WCT.

And if the red-hot action in the lineup isn’t enough for the crowds appetite for fun, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk will return to Cascais as well for another epic show on the final day of the event’s waiting period, October 11th.
