Fast-rising Swedish/Danish melodic metallers confirm first ever headline UK show; London Borderline booked for December 12th 2011 in the wake of Bloodstock Open Air appearance…

Formed by singer Jake E. Lundberg & guitarist Olof Morck and featuring front-woman Elize Ryd in a three-pronged vocal attack, Amaranthe will play a headline show at the Borderline in London on December 12th 2011.

Tickets are priced at £10.00 and are available now from the usual outlets. An opening act will be announced shortly.

Originally called Avalanche, this six-piece set-up first came to public attention via a four-song demo (2008)… and now that demo has developed into a debut album – called simply ‘Amaranthe’, produced by Jacob Hansen and available via Spinefarm Records; already, two singles have been taken from the record (‘Hunger’ & ‘Rain’), with a third, ‘Amaranthine’, to follow.

To support the initial release of the album, Amaranthe Special Guested with Kamelot
on two UK dates in April of this year, then followed this up with an appearance at the Bloodstock festival in August; of course, Swedish vocalist Elize is no stranger to Kamelot’s music, having performed live with the group throughout 2010 – indeed, she will also be touring the US with them shortly

Upon her return, Amaranthe – completed by singer Andy Solvestrom, bassist Johan Andreassen and Danish drummer Morten Lowe Sorensen – head over to Japan to appear at the annual, highly prestigious Loud Park event, having already sold out a headline show in Tokyo in 10 minutes flat!

Then it’s off on a full tour of mainland Europe with heroic Swedish metallers Hammerfall, before heading over to the UK for the Borderline date…
