Launched in 2001 and held annually through 2004, Red Bull Rampage brought the creative, unrestricted ethos of freeride mountain biking to the contest arena while staying true to the sport’s core ideals. Year after year, the boundaries were pushed as the world’s best riders tested their limits in the most awe-inspiring and challenging venue ever tapped for a contest event.
After 2004, the legendary event went on hiatus as organizers scoured the globe for a new site. Riders continued to progress the sport, but there remained a void for a true freeride competition.
Eventually, it became apparent that the one-of-a-kind terrain in southern Utah was unrivaled, and Red Bull Rampage made a triumphant return in 2008. The riders again stepped up to the challenge, threading lines through the dusty and dangerous ridges to deliver their personal best.
